UPDATE/FIX: The problem was the Nahimic software that came packaged with my laptop. If anyone with an MSi GE62 is experiencing similar problems as I was, I recommend searching in the search bar on the bottom left next to the Windows logo for 'Nahimic,' opening the program, and clicking on the power button in the middle to turn off the software. Turning it off removed the strange sound effects I was experiencing.
Hello, I have been having this problem since updating my computer last night/this morning (12/17/2015) with the newest Windows update. Whenever I play audio I get a serious echo type effect. Even when I pause something with audio (e.g. videos, music) I continue to hear this weird reverb. Someone had a very similar issue here. The solution for that person was apparently to disable audio enhancements in his/her speakers' properties. However, I lack both an Enhancements tab and an Enhancements checkbox in the Advanced tab. Here is what my properties windows looks like:
As you can see, there appears to be no way to disable enhancements (unless it's hidden somewhere), which seems to be the most popular fix to this issue. There is listed a playback device also from RealTek High Definition Audio that is apparently not plugged in. Maybe that is the source of the issue?

My laptop is an MSi GE62. I included this information in the title because curiously, someone in the question thread I linked above has the same model and wrote about having the same issue on the same day, so maybe it's a pattern?
Edit: Before someone asks, yes I have updated my speakers' drivers; it has not fixed the echo. Also, I have disabled the microphone so that can't be the issue either.

Also, curiously, the echo occurs even when I use earphones (instead of the default speakers), which indicates to me that the issue may not lie in the speakers themselves but something to do with how the computer decides to play audio.
